PROGNOST®-SILver – machine protection and monitoring
PROGNOST®-SILver It is an advanced machine protection and monitoring system that combines condition monitoring, machine protection, and emergency shutdown (ESD) in a single, safety-certified hardware solution. SIL 3. The system is designed primarily for critical industrial applications where maximum safety, reliability, and device availability are key.
Applications for piston compressors
The main area of application for the PROGNOST®-SILver system is reciprocating compressors, the monitoring of which requires specialised analysis methods. The system uses segmented vibration analysis technology, which divides one compressor rotation cycle into multiple segments, thereby allowing for a very precise evaluation of the machine's mechanical condition.
Thanks to a combination of multiple types of measured quantities – for example, vibrations, piston rod position, cylinder pressures, temperatures, or shaft displacement – the system can detect developing faults in good time and prevent serious compressor failures.
The system can simultaneously monitor several machines and process dozens of signals from sensors. Advanced algorithms evaluate signals in real time and, thanks to plausibility checks of measurements, minimise false alarms.
Applications for rotary machines
Alongside reciprocating compressors, PROGNOST®-SILver is also suitable for rotating machines, such as centrifugal pumps, compressors, turbines or gearboxes. The monitoring is primarily based on the analysis of vibrations, temperatures and shaft position, which allow for monitoring the condition of bearings, rotors or the machine housing.
Thanks to its modular design, the system can be easily expanded with additional measurement channels and adapted to specific applications or operator requirements.
