The Redura\u00ae system is designed to increase the reliability, compression efficiency, and lifespan of compressor components.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Piston rod gas seals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Redura\u00ae gas seal solutions are typically formed by two types of structurally different components \u2013 components for static pressure load and components for dynamic pressure load.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When designing the seal, static and dynamic loads on individual components are analysed in detail, and the optimal structural solution for the rings is chosen. Simultaneously, with regard to the specific application, the material design is also optimised, which ensures high functionality, long service life, and reliable operation of the seal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Piston and guide rings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Redura\u00ae piston and guide rings ensure reliable piston sealing in various compression modes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>single-acting compression<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>double-acting compression<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>dual compression<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Redura\u00ae solutions are typically heterogeneous, meaning that different designs and material configurations of piston rings and rider bands are combined, taking into account pressure load, gas type, and compression characteristics. Both the design and materials are developed in-house by Burckhardt Compression, based on their extensive compressor operating experience. This results in high compression efficiency with minimal gas leakage and a long service life for the rings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Oil seals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Redura\u00ae oil seals reliably ensure that lubricating oil remains within the compressor crankcase. The design of these seals is optimised with regard to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>long service life<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>maximum compressor operating availability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>minimum maintenance costs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The solution also includes a hybrid oil scraper ring, which uses a principle similar to razor blades. The special guide mechanism and a material optimised for dry running ensure very low wear. The geometry of the scraper ring is thus maintained long-term, and the ring provides a stable and high wiping effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Persisto\u00ae Materials<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specialised Persisto\u00ae compound materials are also an important part of the Redura\u00ae system. Unlike conventional plastic materials, which are developed for a broad range of uses, Persisto\u00ae materials are designed for specific types of applications in reciprocating compressors. This allows them to provide an optimal combination of mechanical resistance, low friction, and long service life.
