The separation of liquid from exhaust gases is an important process in every industrial sector. The liquid phase, which gets into the gaseous phase, can lead to a number of problems, such as product loss, equipment damage, or process inefficiency, and therefore it is desirable to eliminate this phenomenon. We offer a wide range of different types of separators for the separation of entrained liquid (demisters\/knock-on separators), which can be installed in both vertical and horizontal positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The liquid trapped on the fibres drains by gravity. They ensure almost complete removal of droplets approximately 3-5 microns in size. At too high a speed, liquid droplets hitting the mesh surface are sheared by steam and trapped before they can drain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Demisters consist of a fine knitted metal or plastic wire mesh, which is normally sandwiched between grids to provide mechanical support. For vessels over 600 mm diameter, the demisters are segmented to facilitate installation through the vessel manway.
