Sulphuric acid neutralisation technology for gypsum production

Technology for nitrocellulose production

In 2019–2020, SULTRADE implemented a project to neutralize waste sulfuric acid by producing chemical gypsum at the SOHIM plant in Belarus. The project involved the complete design of the technology, collaboration with the client on the implementation documentation, and the delivery of a turnkey solution. A unique aspect of the project was that the client required the technology to be integrated into the existing facility. First, a 3D scan of the building was performed, followed by the initial layout of the equipment. Subsequently, the design was developed, including piping isometrics, which involved the challenge of resolving conflicts with the existing building and HVAC systems. followed by the delivery of tanks, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and SCVB 1000/630 GS centrifuges, including their installation and supervision. Commissioning and the successful completion of the gypsum production guarantee tests were achieved in November 2020. The process line is capable of neutralizing up to 7 m³/h of sulfuric acid while producing up to 1.8 t/h of gypsum with a residual moisture content of 13%.
