The common element of all offered types of cooling towers is an uncompromising emphasis on quality and a long service life, which typically exceeds 30 years. Therefore, the fundamental building element is glass-fibre reinforced polyester, which offers unparalleled resistance not only to the corrosive effects of standard quality water but also to potential effects of aggressive waters. All this with minimal maintenance costs, as glass-fibre reinforced polyester requires no maintenance throughout its long service life, perhaps apart from occasional surface cleaning.
Another significant advantage of our cooling towers is the wide range of available cooling fill options, both film-type and spray nozzle types. This choice allows us to always offer an optimal solution, taking into consideration the quantity and size of insoluble and, if applicable, soluble substances.
A characteristic feature of all the cooling towers we supply is the installation of nozzles with a square spray pattern, which therefore allow for absolutely even distribution of water onto the cooling fill. This is a fundamental condition for achieving maximum cooling efficiency. Furthermore, the nozzles are characterised by a large clearance, which, in combination with the high flow rate of water, leads to extraordinary resistance of the nozzles against fouling and clogging. These are so-called self-cleaning effect nozzles and can also be used for very dirty water.
Cooling towers are fitted with special louvres, of the so-called cellular type. Their unique shaping prevents water splash outside the cooling tower, even in strong winds, and stops larger impurities (such as large leaves, plastic bags, carrier bags, etc.) from entering the cooling water. Furthermore, they prevent sunlight from entering the basin, thereby significantly contributing to limiting algae growth. As a result, a smaller amount of biocides can be dosed, thus saving operating costs.
EWK cooling towers
This is a basic series designed for small to medium cooling capacities. The main feature is a compact fibreglass casing and an axial fan guaranteeing minimal electricity consumption. The cooling towers are equipped with a two-speed motor as standard. In the vast majority of cases, they are supplied with a lower collection basin, but we can also supply them without a basin for installation above an existing sump.
They are delivered in a largely pre-assembled state, with only 2 parts (or 4 parts for the EWK 1260 and 1800) being assembled together on-site, which makes construction very fast.
Modupol® EWK Cooling Towers
The Modupol EWK cooling towers are structurally and performance-wise a continuation of the EWK cooling towers. Despite being designed for high-capacity cooling, they retain the fundamental characteristic of EWK tower construction – a self-supporting fibreglass shell, which is an absolute rarity on our market with no competition. The Modupol EWK towers match the performance of large fan-driven concrete and steel cooling towers, while retaining the material advantage of fibreglass, which significantly impacts the tower's lifespan and maintenance requirements.
Modupol towers are supplied as standard with two-speed motors and without a collection sump. A bottom fibreglass sump can be supplied on individual request.
For higher capacities, cooling towers can be connected in series, which results in a space-saving multi-cell design.
Modupol towers are delivered in a highly pre-assembled state, ensuring quick and trouble-free assembly on site.
EWK-D(A) Cooling Towers
The EWK-D(A) cooling towers have a fibreglass support shell of identical construction to the EWK cooling towers. However, the EWK-D(A) towers are equipped with a radial fan to achieve the lowest possible acoustic performance level. If an extremely quiet version is required, the entire cooling tower can be placed in a silencer enclosure – the EWK-DA version.
Like the EWK towers, the EWK-D(A) towers are equipped as standard with two-speed motors and are supplied with a drip tray.
The EWK-D(A) couplings are delivered fully pre-assembled.
EWB-E cooling towers
The EWB series cooling towers are axial fan cooling towers with an older type of construction. The supporting structure consists of galvanised profiles onto which laminate panels are mounted to form the tower walls. This type of tower was originally intended to be fully replaced by the Modupol EWK model series. However, over the many years this type has been supplied, it has gained many satisfied customers who continue to return to this type of tower.
The EWB towers were therefore innovated and improved in terms of materials – the load-bearing part is now made of stainless steel profiles – and are still offered under the designation EWB-E.
The EWB-E towers are equipped as standard with two-speed motors and are supplied either with or without a base basin.
For higher capacities, cooling towers can be connected in series, which results in a space-saving multi-cell design.
The EWB-E towers are delivered „in kit form“ and site assembly is more demanding compared to the Modupol EWK towers.
